Thursday 15th July 2021

Happy Friday! Please remember to upload photos of your learning to Seesaw, even if the activity was given to you here :)

Bookflix: Today you will be answering the questions linked to the text (Alice in Wonderland)  that you analysed yesterday.

  • Make sure you re-read the text before you start.
  • Pick the set of questions which is linked to the level of difficulty you read yesterday.
  • Read the question, think about the type of question (retrieval, vocabulary, 'i think' etc.), go back to the text and answer the question. Always check your answer!
  • Once you have finished, you can use the answers on the same document to mark your work. What type of question do you feel most confident with? What do you need a little more work on?

Maths: Today we will be looking at parallel and perpendicular lines. Please watch this video then see the activities on Seesaw.

On Tuesday and Wednesday we will be doing a big write.  Today please watch the video and make a story plan.  Pay special attention to the characters in the story and their expressions and note how they are feeling - make notes about their expressions and actions and think about whether they are sad, happy etc.   You can watch the video more than once.

Friday 25th June 2021

English:

Please re-watch the video 'One Man Band':

Today we are going to be using fronted adverbials to write exciting sentences about the story! Please find a word map below with examples of the different types of fronted adverbial on. Write two sentences for each of the five sections on the sheet, making sure they link to the story. If you would rather think of some of your own fronted adverbials, that's fine, too. Don't forget the comma!

For example...

In the market square, the two proud musicians played their instruments beautifully.

Maths:

Today we are going to be using the bus stop method of division to solve word problems!

Please watch this video to remind yourself of how to divide using this method if you need it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trjepeOy2rc

Then have a go at the calculations on the sheet below. The answers are on the final 'card' so make sure you don't accidentally peek before you finish. Use these to mark your work at the end.

Obviously, going to the shop at the moment isn't as simple as it used to be, however if you have any money/change at home how about creating a Tuck shop to limit the boredom eating. I have attached an example menu below, if you do create a tuck shop, please upload pictures to seesaw to share with me :)

Tuesday 29th September 2020

  • Reading - The reading text has been assigned to you on Seesaw. Read through the first and second paragraph carefully and 'circle and fix' any words you are unsure of. Add any additional annotations to help you understand the text as best as you can. Remember the more annotate and understand the text, the easier it will be to answer questions on it later in the week. We've been working a lot on this skill the past few weeks in class so now it's putting it into practise!
  • English - watch the video in the link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zwwp8mn/articles/zp937p3 explaining adverbials and fronted adverbials. Watch it as many times as you need. Your work is then assigned to you on Seesaw.
  •  Maths - today we are looking at ordering numbers. Watch the following video, have a go at the questions as you work through, then complete the activity on seesaw.
  • PSHE - You task is uploaded onto seesaw with instructions :).

Any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch and I will reply as soon as possible, my email can be found on our class page.
