Year 1-Remote Learning Page

This is the page that we will be using for Remote Learning this year. This could be in the form whole class/school closure due to a Covid-19 outbreak, or for individuals who have to isolate when waiting for a test or following a positive test in the household. A letter about our Remote Education this year, along with login codes for various platforms and an exercise book were all sent home earlier in the year.

Writing: Please go to seesaw. Watch the video of the input as I have gathered all the amazing adjectives you came up with. Then you are going to write a description of the dragon with at least 4 sentences. Please use the brilliant adjectives you came up with yesterday and you might want to magpie other adjectives! You can write your sentences to describe the dragon in your book and take a photo or write them into the seesaw task page.  

Maths: Please go to seesaw for your task. Watch the video and then complete the task.

Topic: Please go to seesaw for your task. You will be re-watching a video about seasons. Then you will have some questions to answer. Finally I have asked you to draw a picture of summer (just like you did for spring). You need to think about what it looks like in summer and think what to put in your picture carefully. You can use paint, pastels, crayons or whatever you have at home. Please take a photo of your picture and upload it to seesaw.

Please watch the video of me reading the first few pages of this book. You will then be making a prediction about what you think the dragon will do in this story.

 

Maths: Please go to seesaw for your task. We have now finished shape so we are moving onto Place Value. Please watch the video before completing the task on seesaw.

Our Phonics Play site will once again become free for a period of time whilst the majority of UK primary schools are closed.

The username: march20 with the password: home will also work as we know that this will still be on lots of existing home learning documents and web pages that remain from the previous lockdown.

This is a good website to practise phonics. We have done phase 2, 3 and 4 phonics and we are currently learning phase 5 phonics. Feel free to have a play and I will also set some work on this to take full advantage of this log in.

Well done your completing your first day of remote learning in 2021! You all did a great job! Here is the information about your tasks for today.

Phonics: Please go to seesaw to see your task. There is an input video to watch. This video will recap the ai sounds with alternative spellings.

Then complete the task on seesaw (similar to yesterday’s task). You will need to sort the words into the correct ai sound spelling.

 

Reading: Go to seesaw to find this task. Please re-watch the video of me reading the story about the Chinese New Year. Your task has 3 parts:

  • Sequence the events from the story (pictures)
  • Sequence the events from the story (words)
  • Explain what happened in the story at a given event.

See the instructions on seesaw for more information.

 

Maths: Go to seesaw for your task. Today you will recap the 3D shapes by watching the BBC video. Then watch the new video which will introduce how we can sort shapes.

Then complete the task on seesaw to sort shapes.

 

Topic: Go to seesaw for your task. Please watch the video of me introducing seasons using a PowerPoint. There is also a YouTube video to watch.

Once you have watched both videos, complete the task.

You will be naming the seasons, matching the tree and items of clothing to the correct season and telling me some facts about each season. You can even draw a picture if you would like to and upload it to seesaw.

Once you have watched the video, I would like you to draw a picture of your favourite part of the story.
